General Policies

The following policies are designed to promote a welcoming, friendly, and respectful environment for all Members along with their families and guests.

General Policies:

General policies set forth the expectations that all Members are aware of their responsibilities and other general matters so that we all can enjoy our Club (“TSC”) together.
  • Members have a responsibility to ensure that they themselves, their family, and their guests comply with TSC Policies. Similarly, each Member is responsible for any policy violations related to themselves, their family, and their guests.
  • Members are responsible for any property they, their family members, and their guests damage.
  • Advertising, subscription paper, petitions, or other matter should not be posted in the Club or on the premises, without permission of the Governing Board
  • Game or card playing is permitted in:
    • The Library
    • The Brookhaven Lounge
    • The Locker Room
  • Animals or pets are not allowed on the Club premises excepting service animals.
  • Alleged rule violations will be handled in accordance with TSC By-Laws.

Matters Relating to TSC Employees:

We seek to attract and retain great employees while recognizing the need for Member feedback relative to service and our facilities to achieve this objective.
  • Please direct all matters relating to the Club's facilities, service, or employee conduct, preferably in writing, to the General Manager or the Chairman of the appropriate Board Committee.
  • Tipping is permitted and encouraged to recognize exceptional service, but not required.

Use of the Club by Children:

TSC encourages children to enjoy our facilities while providing a family-friendly environment that protects each child’s safety and well-being.
  • Children 13 and older may be at the Club unaccompanied;
    • Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult;
  • Use of the sauna, whirlpool, and steam rooms is restricted to those at least 18 years old or if accompanied by their parent;
  • Children 15 and over may use the fitness center unaccompanied and;
  • See Dining and Food Policies.

Clubhouse Policies

Clubhouse policies are designed to encourage the use of the Club facilities for their intended purpose.

Use of Technology:
  • Please set mobile devices to silent/vibrate while on Club premises.
  • The audible use of mobile devices, including placing and receiving phone calls is permitted in the following areas:
    • Parking lot;
    • Designated phone rooms;
    • Locker rooms;
    • Golf Course;
    • Parking area of practice range;
    • Designated area in the Tennis Facility and;
    • Designated area in Athletic Facility
  • Hand-held devices may be used by children if the devices are muted.
  • Laptops and similar devices used for working purposes are permitted in the following areas:
    • The Library
    • The Brookhaven Lounge prior to 12 pm
    • Locker Rooms
Smoking:
  • TSC Clubhouse is a non-smoking facility.
  • Use of cigarettes, cigars, vapes, chewing tobacco, and all other smoking devices is permitted in designated smoking areas outside the Clubhouse which are:
    • The Golf Course and;
    • Smoking areas so designated with receptacles.
  • Please dispose of cigarettes and cigars in appropriate containers in each smoking area.
  • There are three permitted smoking areas outside the Clubhouse:
    • The Main Entrance Courtyard;
    • The Golf Course and;
    • The Firepit Area if not disturbing the dining patio.

Dress Code

Our dress code is designed to provide a range of fashion that promotes a relaxed atmosphere while also being appropriate for a private country club. While the policies are designed for all those 13 and above, it is preferable for all children to try and comply with the policies as well. Our hat policy applies to all ages and genders.

Clubhouse Dining and Common Areas Dress Code:

*Applies to individuals 5 years of age and older.
Acceptable
Tops: Collared golf shirts, sweaters, vests and jackets. Collared golf shirts must always remain tucked in. Shirts designed to be worn un-tucked (for example UNTUCKit or Tommy Bahama) may be worn un-tucked. Athletic shirts are permitted if coming from Racquet Courts or Athletic Facility.

Bottoms: Slacks, shorts, skorts, skirts, and dresses must all be mid-thigh length. Tailored classic denim may have light fraying along the bottom of the pants. Athletic bottoms are permitted if coming from Wellness Areas.

Shoes: Appropriate footwear must remain on at all times. Dress sandals are acceptable.

Hats/Visors: Permitted in all outside areas and while passing through the golf pro shop door entrance from the parking lot, entering by the tennis pro shop, passing through the racquet sports entrance to the courts, and walking to the athletic facility. Hats must always be worn with the bill facing forward.

Prohibited
Tops: Cut-off tank tops, halter tank tops, spaghetti strap tank tops, mesh tops, crop tops, or swimwear.

Bottoms: Torn or holed denim, low-riding or cut-off shorts, denim shorts, cargo shorts, or swimwear. Mini-skirts, dresses, or shorts higher than mid-thigh).

Hats/visors: Not permitted on the main level of the clubhouse.

Shoes: Flip flops or bare feet.




Golf Course and Practice Facilities Dress Code:

*It is preferable for all persons aged 5 and older to follow this policy, as well.
Acceptable
Tops:
Collared shirts, mock neck shirts, sweaters, vests, jackets, pullovers, and golf-brand hoodies. Shirts must always be tucked in.

Bottoms:
Slacks, shorts (mid-thigh length), skirts, golf dresses. Leggings are permitted under a skirt/shorts, and golf-brand joggers.

Shoes:
Appropriate golf footwear or athletic shoes.

Hats/visors:
These may be worn in the locker rooms, when passing through the golf shop, and while on the course and practice facilities. Hats must always be worn with the bill facing forward.

Prohibited
Tops: Tee shirts, halter tops, crop tops, tank tops, and un-tucked shirts.

Bottoms:
Tennis skirts, short shorts (above mid-thigh), denim, cargo shorts, athletic shorts, or pants, including yoga pants or leggings.

Shoes:
Bare feet, flip flops, metal spikes.



Racquet Courts and Health & Wellness Center Dress Code:

* It is preferable for all persons aged 5 and older to follow this policy, as well.
Acceptable
Tops: Athletic tee-shirts, athletic tank tops, athletic jackets, and sweatshirts.

Bottoms: Athletic shorts and pants, skirts/skorts, athletic dresses, leggings and yoga pants.

Shoes: Appropriate closed-toed athletic shoes (non-marking soles for racquet courts).

Hats/visors: Hats and visors may be worn with the bill facing forward.

Prohibited
Tops: cut-off tank tops, crop tops, spaghetti strap tank tops, halter tops, muscle tank tops, worn, ripped, or clothing with holes.

Bottoms: Short shorts, cargo shorts, and denim.

Shoes: Street shoes, sandals/flip-flops, open-toed shoes, bare or stocking feet.



Swimming Pool Dress Code:

*Applies to individuals of all ages.
Acceptable
Appropriate swim attire and cover-ups.

Bathing suits are expected to be in good taste supporting a family-friendly environment.

Swim diapers are required for children who are not potty trained. A minimum of $1,000 fine will apply to violators of this policy.
Prohibited
Cut-off, denim or Bermuda shorts inside the pool.

Revealing swimwear.

Dining and Food Policy

These policies are designed to provide outstanding service and exceptional food quality in a country club environment for both family and adult-only enjoyment.

Dining Area Food Service:
  • The following dining options are available:
    • 1867 Grille: Serving a full menu.
    • Members’ Bar: Serving cocktails and a bar menu with seating available to those 18+.
    • Brookhaven Lounge: Serving cocktails and a lounge menu with seating available to those 18+.
    • Library: A shared space for all Members available for catering/coffee service upon advance request with the F&B Director.
    • Private Dining Room: Available for private events; please contact the Catering Director for arrangements.
    • Concordia Hall: Available for private events; please contact the Catering Director for arrangements.
  • No outside food and beverages of any kind are permitted for consumption on Club Property, with the following exceptions:
    • Special dietary requirements for religious or medical reasons;
    • Bottled water or water bottles to be filled at the Club;
    • Food for infants and;
    • Bringing a cup of coffee or similar miscellaneous treats from time to time.
  • No outside alcoholic beverages of any kind are permitted for consumption on Club property, except for wine served in accordance with TSC corkage policy.

Thank you for complying with these policies so all Members, their family, and their guests have full enjoyment of the Club and its camaraderie.

Golf Rules

Privileges
  • Golf Guest Privileges are given to Full Privilege Members only.
  • Sports Members, Associate Members, and Athletic Members may be invited as guests of a Full Privilege Member and must abide by the guest restrictions and fees.
  • Sports/Associate Members may play additional rounds as a guest of a member and must abide by the guest restrictions and fees
Guests
  • All guests are required to check in with the golf shop before using any of the golf facilities.
  • All guests must play with a Full Privilege Member or be accompanied by one of the Golf Professionals.
  • Accompanied Guests are permitted to play anytime during the week and after 2:00 pm on the weekends if they are accompanied by a Member.
  • Unaccompanied guests have limited access to the golf course and will need approval from The Director of Golf or Head Golf Professional before playing. They will be required to pay the Unaccompanied Guest Fee.
  • Members cannot bring outside professionals to teach on our property, nor can Members teach on the property.
  • The Member shall assume responsibility for the Member's (or the member's spouse's or dependent's) guests ‘compliance with all rules and regulations.
Limitations
  • No guest, including a family guest, is permitted more than six rounds in one calendar year and no more than once a month.
  • Exceptions for out-of-town family guests will be allowed to play multiple times within a month with approval from the Director of Golf or Head Golf Professional.
  • Family Guests must be accompanied by members and pay the family rate.
  • Family guests may play any time during the week and after 12:00 pm on the weekends.
  • The following is considered a family guest: mother, father, children, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sisters, and brothers.
  • Any members wishing to bring more than three guests at one time must make arrangements with the Director of Golf or Head Golf Professional. Any foursomes without a golf member will have to pay the unaccompanied fees.
  • Guests accompanied by Members are permitted to practice at the course in conjunction with a playing round.
  • Guests are not permitted to use the practice facilities if they are not playing a round of golf.
Golf Dress Code
  • Golf shirts must be tucked in at all times.
  • Golf shirts must have a collar or mock neck.
  • Tee shirts, tank tops, and halter tops are not acceptable in lieu of golf shirts, sports shirts, and blouses.
  • Slacks, bermuda-length shorts, skirts, and skorts are appropriate given they are of a modest cut.
  • Basketball shorts, sweatpants, leggings, or swim trunks are not acceptable on the golf course.
  • Front-facing caps are permitted.
  • Appropriate golf shoes are required while playing golf.
  • Metal spikes are not permitted to be worn on Club grounds.
  • Shoes and clothing must be changed in the locker rooms only.
Weekend Tee Times
  • The weekend is defined as Saturday and Sunday, with the exception of guest fee rates.
  • Weekend Tee Times go by a lottery system.
  • If you wish to play on a weekend, you may submit a request through the website or app, just like a weekday tee time.
  • The window to put your request in is the Sunday prior at midnight until Tuesday at midnight.
  • Requests submitted before Sunday at midnight or after Tuesday at midnight are not available.
  • Our golf professional staff posts the final weekend tee sheet no later than noon on Wednesday.
  • You may schedule a tee time on a weekend as you would a weekday tee time if there are open slots available after the lottery has been posted.
  • Each group will need a designated captain to place the weekend tee time request.
  • All requests will require a 2-hour tee time window, and no exact time requests will be granted.
  • Groups that have three or fewer players will be subject to availability and may be paired up to form a foursome.
  • If any person requests to join a group, they may or may not be paired with that group and are subject to that group's availability.
  • The primary Member has first priority over all dependents, family guests, and guests. Therefore, all dependents, family guests, and guests will be subject to availability and will be granted times after all primary members have their requests granted.
  • Groups that are consistently unable to keep up with the weekend pace of play will be subject to play all future tee times at later times in the day.
  • Only one dependent will be allowed to play with the primary members in the mornings. Those that have more than one dependent in their group will be subject to availability after all primary member's requests have been granted.
  • All family guests must play after 12:00 pm.
  • All regular guests must play after 2:00 pm.
  • If there are any open weekend morning tee times available within 24 hours, then dependents and family guests will be allowed to reserve a time.

Weekday Tee Times
  • The weekday is defined as Tuesday-Friday.
  • You may schedule a weekday tee time up to two weeks in advance.
  • There is no lottery system in place for weekday tee times.
  • You can sign up for a tee time using one of the following methods:
    • Use the app (preferred method) available on Google Play and Apple App Store.
    • Use the website (www.standardclub.org) and log in to the Member site.
    • Visit the Pro Shop.
Tee Time Policy
  • We require everyone to have a tee time to play on our course.
  • There are no standing tee times permitted. This is so that all players have the chance to enjoy our course.
  • To reserve a tee time, use your app, use the website, call the pro shop, or stop in the pro shop.
  • Weekday tee times may be made 2 weeks in advance.
  • Weekend tee times are done by a lottery system. You may put your weekend request in between Sunday at midnight and Tuesday at midnight prior to the weekend.
  • Weekend tee times will be released no later than Wednesday at 12:00 pm unless otherwise stated.
  • If you are reserving a slot in your foursome for a “TBD” member, those slots must be filled with a member 72 hours before your tee time. Otherwise, that slot will become available for other members to book.
  • TBDs are not permitted on weekends.
  • In the event you are not able to utilize your reserved tee time, please cancel that reservation so that others may utilize that time.
  • If you are a single golfer and are looking for a game, please contact the golf shop. They will be happy to help pair you with other members.
  • Guests must check in to the Golf Shop prior to playing.

Racquet Sports Rules

General Rules
  • Regulation tennis shoes (soft soles and no heels) must be worn. Jogging shoes, non-skid soles, no-mar shoes, and bare feet are not permitted.
  • Only regulation tennis apparel, including a shirt or official tennis warm-up suit, is permitted. No cut-offs, tank tops, or women's aerobic wear are permitted.
  • Basic etiquette shall always be maintained on and around the tennis courts.
  • All outdoor courts are open for play at 9:00 am each day, weather permitting.
  • Facilities are closed on Mondays, or any other time as directed by the General Manager or Governing Board.
  • The use of outside teachers, coaches, or professionals is not permitted on Standard Club property.
  • Under 18 are not permitted to reserve indoor courts.
Court Reservations Indoor/Outdoor
  • All players must register either online or in the Tennis Shop before playing. This includes all guest names.
  • Members and their Immediate Family must register all guests at the desk. A guest fee will be charged for all guests. Failure to register a guest will result in a minimum $30 fine.
  • Reservations can be made 72 hours in advance.
  • Outdoor courts may be reserved on the hour or half-hour.
  • Booking both an indoor court and an outdoor court to only use one court as a backup method due to weather is prohibited.
  • A member may reserve only one court per time slot.
Cancelation Policy
  • Cancelation period:
  • Court reservations must be canceled by 9:00 pm the day before the reservation.
  • Cancelation & no-shows:
    • 1st offense: $30 fine per player
    • 2nd offense: $50 fine per player
    • 3rd offense: Brought to Racquet Sports Committee for evaluation.
Guest Policy
  • All guests must be registered online or at the tennis desk before a court will be assigned prior to starting play.
  • The same guest shall be permitted no more than six times per calendar year. When the guest plays, they are subject to the following guest fees:
    • Indoor Courts: $30 per guest
    • Outdoor Courts: $20 per guest
  • Dependents of members are not permitted to have guests during peak times.
  • Courts may not be booked by a member for guests to play without being accompanied by the member. All guest names are to be recorded correctly.
  • No guest fees will be charged for court reservations for competitive league matches in T2, ALTA, and USTA.
Indoor Rules For League Play
Rules for reserving indoor courts used for ALTA and USTA matches will be established by the Racquet Sports Committee and approved by the General Manager, from time to time. These rules will be posted in the Tennis Shop. No guest fees will be charged for court reservations for competitive league matches in T2, ALTA, and USTA.

  • Tuesday – Friday 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
